Key Information

In this section, you will find information about rehoming and surrendering piggies. Please read these carefully before proceeding with the application. Forms are required for both adoptions and surrendering.

Our Rehoming Policies

Any existing set ups must comply with our minimum rehoming requirement for two pigs is 0.8 metres squared of uninterrupted floor space on one level. We stress this is a minimum and more space should be provided wherever possible. If you are yet to purchase a set up, we are happy to advise!

We are not open to the public and cannot accept visitors/potential adopters to come and view the pigs without a pre-booked adoption appointment. We work on a matching process and will discuss pigs with you when a suitable match is found for your family.

We are not able to take requests on colour or eye colour when matching pigs to home because we firmly believe all our rescues deserve an equal chance of finding happiness regardless of how they look. If you are likely to turn down a match due to wanting a specific coloured pig, please do not proceed with this application.

All pigs rehomed from the Potato Patch are subject to a no breeding contract. After adoption, you as the new owner hold a duty of care to them and are responsible for their care, bar any pre-existing, declared health conditions which will be covered by the sanctuary. All pigs have a "home for life" agreement and must be returned to the sanctuary if you are unable to keep them.

Adoption fees also apply (£30 per single entire, £40 per neutered boar or £50 per pair, this may be reduced in cases with additional needs).

Surrendering a Guinea Pig

In the unfortunate event you find yourself needing to surrender your guinea pig/s, please get in touch. We have a recommended donation of £10 per guinea pig (£20 per entire boar to go towards their castration costs) however this is entirely optional and not at all a condition of their relinquishment.
